Tortoise and the Hare Greeting Card
Tortoise and the Hare Greeting Card
In Aesop's Fable "The Tortoise and the Hare", the slow and steady Tortoise wins the race while the arrogant Hare is taking a nap. In this interpretation of the famous race, the rascally Hare is letting the grass grow under his feet on the back of a frustrated tortoise on the move. This beautifully illustrated image is taken from a watercolour on paper painting by award-winning artist Daniel Mackie. The artist's work is heavily influenced by the Japanese print makers of the Ukiyo-e period, between 1670 and 1870. Daniel creates highly decorative designs that lift the spirit and warm the heart.
