Owl in the Forest Greeting Card
Owl in the Forest Greeting Card
A group of owls is called a "parliament". This name originates from C.S. Lewis' description of a meeting of owls in The Chronicles of Narnia. The tiniest owl in the world is the Elf Owl, which is only 5-6 inches tall and lives on the Baja California Penninsula. This image of a nocturnal owl is taken from a watercolour on paper painting by award-winning artist Daniel Mackie. The artist's work is heavily influenced by the Japanese print makers of the Ukiyo-e period, between 1670 and 1870. Daniel creates highly decorative designs that lift the spirit and warm the heart.
