Lion Card
Lion Card
In Aesop's fable, 'The Lion and the Mouse,' the Lion King takes mercy on the mouse who pleads not to be eaten. The lion is later rewarded when saved from a trap by the mouse who gnaws through the trap's ropes to free him. This image is taken from a watercolour on paper painting by award-winning artist Daniel Mackie. The artist's work is heavily influenced by the Japanese print makers of the Ukiyo-e period, between 1670 and 1870. Daniel creates highly decorative designs that lift the spirit and warm the heart.
