The illustrated Horse is formed after the Zephyrus, a mythical Greek god depicted as a horse. Zephyrus was the west wind, the gentlest of the winds, also known as the messenger of spring. This image is taken from a watercolour on paper painting by award-winning artist Daniel Mackie. The artist's work is heavily influenced by the Japanese print makers of the Ukiyo-e period, between 1670 and 1870. Daniel creates highly decorative designs that lift the spirit and warm the heart.
