Black Cat Card
Black Cat Card
Pirates of the 19th century believed that black cats bring different types of luck. If a black cat walks towards you, it brings bad luck; if a black cat walks away from you, then good fortune will follow. This image is taken from a watercolour on paper painting by award-winning artist Daniel Mackie. The artist's work is heavily influenced by the Japanese print makers of the Ukiyo-e period, between 1670 and 1870. Daniel creates highly decorative designs that lift the spirit and warm the heart.
