Wooden Nest Sensory Play Tray

A little nest for big imaginations.

Beautifully simple and endlessly versatile, the Wooden Nest Play Tray creates an inviting space for sensory play, small-world adventures, and open-ended creativity.

Designed in the charming shape of a bird's nest, this solid wood play tray is crafted from hard maple and finished with a natural, oil-based, non-toxic and kid-safe finish from The Real Milk Paint Co. Its warm wood grain and organic shape make it just as beautiful sitting on a shelf as it is filled with a child's latest creation.

Add sensory filler and tiny treasures for a themed sensory invitation, fill it with play dough and loose parts, or pair it with wooden eggs and a felt bird to create a sweet little nesting scene.

Thoughtfully designed by Taylored Toys and made in the USA, it's the kind of simple, beautifully crafted toy that can inspire something different every time it comes off the shelf.

So Many Ways to Play

There's no single "right" way to play with the Wooden Nest Tray—and that's exactly what makes it special.

Fill it with sensory materials for scooping, sorting, and discovering. Add play dough for creating tiny nests, birds, eggs, flowers, or whatever little imaginations dream up. Use it for nature finds collected on a walk, seasonal loose parts, counting activities, or small-world play. It is also fun for little ones to simply run their fingers along the grooves.

As children grow, this beautiful wooden piece can take on an entirely new life outside the playroom. It can even be used as a charming little charcuterie or serving board, making it a piece your family can enjoy long after the sensory-play years are over.
